I completed my first certification at Mount Royal University after enrolling in the Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate program. My desire to enrol in the course came from a life long love for playing sports. I grew up playing competitive hockey, football and soccer. This passion for sport fuelled me to constantly want to improve myself and live a physically fit lifestyle. Something I have now inspired to pass along to others. There is no better gift in life then to be able to help others. Seeing the expression on a clients face when they first look at the drastic changes of their before and after photos or the sigh of relief you hear from a client who stands on the scale and glances down to see their hard work finally pay off is the most rewarding career one could ask for.
Over the years, I have been very fortunate to move around within the industry. Upon graduating in 2010 I left Canada to explore the fitness industry in Europe. I spent a short time aboard a cruise ship, training and teaching classes including yoga, pilates, boxing, spin, as well as bootcamps. Once I returned, I landed a job at a big box gym where I spent 1 year as a full time trainer and 3 as a manager. With the help of my team, we were able to lead them to change a record amount of lives. Seeing hundreds of clients come through the door with discontent and leave with satisfaction after achieving their goals inspired me to want to do more. I wanted to create an atmosphere that strived on seeing results without all the restrictions that one may run into at a big box gym. With years of feedback from hundreds of clients , I was able to create an atmosphere that allows each and every client that walks through our doors at Evolution Performance to leave with a sense of knowing that everything we do is solely focused on helping them achieve their goals without the hurdles and uncertainty they may face at a big box gym.
Society has now built a lifestyle that works against us. The human body is meant to move and move often without pain and restriction.
